P: Epistemic arrogance can make you smarter if it's combined with bias for action

Reference::

Epistemic arrogance—the overconfidence in one's knowledge, judgement, skill—when combined with bias for action can actually be productive. that you’re making unexpected discoveries along the way

Why?

Because when you're confident in your knowledge, you're usually more likely to act on that knowledge. Putting knowledge into practice, usually makes you realize that you were wrong but that's not important.

What's important is that you're truly learning, because you're clashing theory with practice, which is where truth resides (P: Bring the metaphysical into the physical).

What's more, like Columbus who set off to find another road to India and discovered America, you have the potential to discover new things by that what's hiding in the unexplored corners of reality by accident.
