Managers (including me) struggle with effective communication. Yet, conveying information in a clear, relevant, and insightful way is our imperative task.
Most effective communication comes from combining text and video.
Text makes your message informative and actionable because it provides content that is scannable, ordered, and to the point.
Video makes your communication more relevant because it conveys emotion and nuance that supplies your text with missing context.
Additionally, both of these forms of communication can be consumed asynchronously, which is critical in a large and/or scaling organization.
Therefore, whenever you want to get your message across effectively to a many people write it down and supplement it with a video where you describe what you wrote.
