The awareness that we’re in the process of dying might be one of the strongest motivations to not waste time.
What's more, to die is not a singular event—we are dying every day. All days that have passed are already in the hands of death—they are not our anymore.
Consequently, as the amount of time left decreases, the value of each day that is left increases. As a result, it will rise to the point where at the end of your life you would happily trade one additional day for 10 million dollars.
Fortunately (or not), time is but the only thing we have control over. At every moment you can choose how to spend it. Unlike wealth, race, gender, the place you've been born you have 100% control over it.
Yet, most of us, consciously or not, lose this precious time on mindless activities or negative behaviors.
Being aware of the scarceness of time may help you make better decisions about what to do with your remaining days.
Steve Jobs said it brilliantly (it gives me goosebumps every time read it): "When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything—all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure—these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."
To put it bluntly: death is the single best bullshit remover. Ask yourself the death question, whenever you feel a lack of meaning or have a hard decision to make. It will most certainly show you the way.

The next thing that can make you happier is realizing that you're gonna die. You’re born, you have a set of sensory experiences, and then you die. How you choose to interpret those experiences is up to you, and different people interpret them in different ways. (change here this transition) This life is the only one that you'll have. You must experience it as fully as possible. So if you spend time not doing what you want, learning, or making money, then wtf are you doing?
