P: Never quit. Instead, iterate

Reference::

"Winners Never Quit & Quitters Never Win" — Vince Lombardi quote

Not quitting as a recipe for success makes sense when it's combined with iteration—adjusting one's plans after the previous have failed.

Why? As we know, due to the complexity of reality, we almost never get a plan right at the first try. There are too many unknown unknowns, too many platonicities [1]. Edison failed a thousand times before he successfully created the light bulb. X failed before Y. Product management, which is what I do for a living, is about constant trying, adjusting, and repeating. In a complex world it's the only way forward.

Therefore, if you want to success—i.e., achieve your goals—you need to plan, try, adjust, and repeat until you achieve it. If you stick for long enough, you'll succeed.

But to do that you have to have a goal towards which you're iterating.
