PN: Qualities to becoming successful

Reference: fleetingNote

If someone asked me what does it take to become successful I would answer that there are two most important qualities. Those two can be called meta-skills since they influence almost everything else. They are to your success what a rich soil is to plants that grow in it. Let's see what they are.

Growth Mindset. It's about knowing that each experience, no matter if it's a success or failure, has within it potential learning. Those who can extract learnings from most of their experiences are the ones who grow the fastest. Furthermore, having such a mindset can be a remedy to negative emotions because basically everything becomes positive.

Long term vision [[2](PN: Play the long-term game),3]. If you know what you want to achieve or at least the direction you want to go, the world becomes your library. We all know the situation when we talk with someone about a particular car, let's say a red Audi. After the conversation, you suddenly start noticing those cars everywhere. It's similar to goals. Once you know it, you will almost magically start noticing things that can bring you closer to your objective. It's almost as puzzles.

"Be stubborn on the vision, but flexible on the details" – Jeff Bezos quote

Update September 14th, 2021: I've realized that these qualities, although important, are lacking depth. Namely, if you strive toward a wrong vision – one that will bring you misery in the long term, one that is motivated by short term goals, one that is the product of surface wants – you will fail. First, you need to uncover who you want to become, what values you have, what internal problems you want to solve. Therefore, you must add the quality of individuation because it impacts everything else.

Also I would add to those the quality of constantly doing new things and doing things you're afraid of. More written here
