PN: How to discover your path in life

“Just as a well filled day brings blessed sleep, so a well-employed life brings a blessed death”

The path to mastery begins with choosing, or rather rediscovering your life's task. It's springs from the most authentic part of you—your inner core. Your core cannot really be verbalized or explained. Yet, it gives you meaning and pushes you into action.

Unfortunately, as we grow older we lose connection with this force. We burry it under the layer of rationality, seriousness, and responsibility that our modern world requires from us.

However, it's crucial to find this inner core because it's the driving force behind your existence. It's what gives you power. It's what fuels you.

How can you find it?

You must dig deeper and return to your origins—to when you were a child. Examine the things that brought you in a state of flow. Greene phrases it in this way: "Look for its traces in visceral reactions to something simple; a desire to repeat an activity that you never tired of; a subject that stimulated an unusual degree of curiosity; feelings of power attached to particular actions."

Can I connect it to default mode network . If so, can I extrapolate to psychedelics (https://www.trippingly.net/lsd-studies/2018/10/13/using-the-psychedelic-experience-for-personal-growth cmd+f 'default mode network' - explore this concept further)

These might be things that get you into the state of flow

tk P: Things that energize you Also following what interests you or energizes you, since it's a path to your most developed self

Another thing you can do to find your life's task is to experiment as much as you can. Especially when you're young you should say 'yes' to almost everything you encounter. Here is why: PN: Saying YES to almost everything; P: Luck surface area; P: Use randomness to improve yourself

Remember, you have nothing to create. It's already there within you. You merely need to dig and refind what have lost a long time ago.

Based on your introspection you choose a field that roughly corresponds to your interests. From there you can take two directions. More here: PN: Two paths of development

Throughout this process, you must acquire a future-oriented perspective. It's about choosing long-term activities over short-term ones. The most successful people are the ones who see the longest time horizon of their actions. More on that here: PN: Pick the long-term over the short-term
