TK P: Recipe for success: specific knowledge, authenticity, and product-market-fit

Combining with specific knowledge with authenticity and figuring out how to map it to solve real user problems (product market fit and 1,000 true fans) is the recipe for success.

Why? Let's go one by one.

Specific knowledge makes you wanted because it's scarce—it cannot be outsourced or automated.

It's usually the result of curiosity and passion (doing what energizes you). It tends to be highly technical or creative.

That said, it's often useful to ask yourself, 'what of what I am doing currently cannot be outsourced or automated' and doubling down on that. Conversely, you can inverse the question to figure out where your position is endangered 'what of what I am doing currently can be outsourced or automated?'

[rewrite] And if you want to succeed you must be the best at it. Because in today's world the person who does something best, gets to do it for everybody. If you’re not 100 percent into it, somebody else who is 100 percent into it will outperform you.

Here two paths:

You don't need to be top specialist. What's easier is combining 2-3 areas

You can learn specific knowledge by doing what you're naturally good at and what interests you. Only if it feels like play to you, you'll be able to be the best at it.

Authenticity is the ultimate differentiator. It lets you escape competition because no one can compete with you being you.

Product-market fit. If you're solving real problems, you're the best in it, and you're unique, people will want you. (maybe this at the top?)

Just look at examples. Jordan B is X Y Z. There is nobody like him, and people are killing themselves to get on his talks. Joe Rogan is the best podcaster. Everybody wants to be

What's missing here is that the most important thing in our world is the ability to grab attention because we live in an attention-based economy. Everything revolves around it. So before you can sell your products and services by combining specific knowledge, authenticity, and solving an unmet user need you must make sure people know about you.

PN: The secret to entrepreneurship is to start small: If you want to make money, you need to provide value first. Creating content or writing code are the best vehicles for value because they can scale infinitely thanks to the internet

One way to achieve that is by creating something unique, something that cannot be replaced, that gives value to people. Usually, it requires a combination of specific knowledge and [authenticity](TK PN: The best way to succeed in business is through authenticity) which result in a creation of a personal brand that solves specific problems of a group of people. Examples of such brands are Tim Ferriss, Joe Rogan, Tony Robbins. These are just the biggest, but you don't need to be that massive to make a good living, satisfying 1,000 people might be sufficient for a decent living. Start small but be consistent. Eventually, you'll succeed.
