Achieving success in business is not complicated. You just have to make 1,000 people extremely, extremely happy. Those customers will become your superfans. A superfan is someone who will buy from you anything you produce.
For it to make sense business-wise you must create products that are worth 100$. $100 x 1,000 gives you $100,000 which is a decent living for most of us. This means the number 1,000 is not fixed. If you produce a product worth $50 then you'll need 2,000. If you can live of 50k a year then you'll need to have proportionally fewer fans or create cheaper products.
Why 1,000 super fans and not 100,000? Such a group of people is small enough that it will hold you authentic. You might even remember the names of all your customers. It won't be a business but a relationship.
With a relatively small group of people, you can solve specific problems and get immense pleasure and fulfillment from helping them. They will hold you true to what you do because you'll be helping people that are close to you. Everything big started as small and focused.
The good thing is that the internet gives you the opportunity to find such a group of people. With so many people connected nowadays, for almost any interest you have you'll find a group of at least couple of thousand people who share this interest. Furthermore, nowadays everything is one click away. E.g. best books and the worst can be found on the same page.
And btw. you won't have only 1000 people. you'll also have around 2-3k people that are just regular fans. However, you should focus on the 1000 true fans. They will become your ambasadors and marketers if you help them well.

One way to achieve that is by creating something unique, something that cannot be replaced, that gives value to people. Usually, it requires a combination of specific knowledge and [authenticity](TK PN: The best way to succeed in business is through authenticity) which result in a creation of a personal brand that solves specific problems of a group of people. Examples of such brands are Tim Ferriss, Joe Rogan, Tony Robbins. These are just the biggest, but you don't need to be that massive to make a good living, satisfying 1,000 people might be sufficient for a decent living. Start small but be consistent. Eventually, you'll succeed.
